Li Xin

Li Xin, graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology with a MA in 2004, is currently a Ph. D candidate in Foreign Linguistics and Applied Linguistics as well as an instructor of College English at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. Since 2004, she has taught various courses including New Horizon College English, A Survey of British and American Culture, Oral English, English for Master of Engineering, etc., enjoying popularity among her colleagues as well as her students. Due to her professional dedication, she received the SJTU New Star Teaching Award and the SJTU Teaching Achievement Award in 2010, and the SJTU “Zhu Guang” Award in 2011.

Apart from English teaching, Li Xin worked as SOFL’s liaison with the Office of International Affairs of SJTU during 2006-2007 and in the following year, she taught Chinese at St. Edwards University, the United States, as a Fulbright FLTA scholar and cultural ambassador.

Drawing on her teaching experience, Li Xin has authored and co-authored a series of well-received textbooks including Oral English WorkshopCollege English Fast Reading,Topway CET-4 Listening Express, etc.

Since 2010, she has been actively engaged in various research projects related to corpus-based translation studies as a PhD student. She is at present conducting research with her colleagues on a university-funded project featuring corpus-based study of Chinese-English conference interpretation, which will be the research focus for her Ph. D study.
